The areas addressed included: administration of nonperforming loans, high level automation and centralized data management, sound practices for loan administration and portfolio management, growth in servicing activities and portfolio diversity, and an expanded internal audit and compliance program.
Sabal Financial engages the firm of Ernst & Young to assess the internal control structure and perform the annual corporate financial audit of the company. Additionally, the company engages Ernst & Young, in our role as manager of certain investment funds – established in partnership with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”) or other investors, to assess the internal control structure and perform annual audits for various investment funds. The results of the various fund audits are provided to the FDIC and other investors.
Sabal Financial annually conducts an SOC 1 audit, utilizing the firm of Grant Thornton LLP. Examination is performed in accordance of the attestation standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The report issued on January 5, 2015, was unqualified, indicating a clean report with no exceptions.
Sabal Financial undergoes a detailed annual FDIC compliance review, focusing on the areas of: Financial Reporting, Asset Management, and Management and Operations.
Sabal Financial has attained a “Pass” status in regard to the Primary and Special Servicer of Commercial Assets, by Moody’s – a leading provider of credit ratings, research and risk analysis.
Sabal Financial has conducted a Regulation AB report for the past three years, demonstrating compliancy. This is an annual auditpertaining to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Regulation AB for the Commercial Loan Servicing Platform, and is conducted by Grant Thornton LLP.
